Russ Lyon Sotheby’s International Realty is proud to announce the appointment of Bret Lamberson as President—a strategic leadership expansion that reflects the firm’s continued commitment to excellence, collaboration, and long-term growth. Bret will serve in this elevated role while continuing his responsibilities as Designated Broker, bringing together strategic leadership and operational expertise at a pivotal time for both the organization and the real estate industry.
Bret joined Russ Lyon Sotheby’s International Realty in 2005 and immediately recognized the brokerage as one that stood apart—from the strength of its leadership to the culture of professionalism that has long defined its reputation across Arizona. Early in his tenure, Bret was deeply influenced by the example set by Jim and Todd, who traveled to Northern Arizona and demonstrated what true expertise and integrity look like in practice. Their leadership and unwavering standards left an enduring impression and helped shape Bret’s own approach to supporting agents and strengthening the firm’s foundation.
Built over 78 years and spanning three generations, Russ Lyon Sotheby’s International Realty has established a legacy rooted not only in longevity, but in the strength of its people. Bret believes the company’s continued success is directly tied to the exceptional support provided to agents statewide—support made possible by dedicated leaders, managing brokers, and colleagues in every office who remain united by a shared mission and a culture of collaboration.
In addition to his extensive experience in brokerage leadership, Bret brings a uniquely valuable skill set as an attorney licensed in both Arizona and California. With a strong background in real estate transactions and litigation, he offers enhanced insight that strengthens company operations and provides meaningful support to agents navigating increasingly complex and high-stakes transactions. Over the years, Bret has worked closely with many of the firm’s top-performing agents statewide—relationships built on trust, consistency, and a shared commitment to doing business at the highest level.
Outside of work, Bret is known for his high energy and love of the outdoors. He’s a lifelong fan of 80’s music, and when he’s not working, you’ll often find him skiing, mountain biking, or surfing—though skiing remains his first favorite. “I love snow and sunrises and sunsets in high mountains,” he shares. He also believes strongly in staying active, noting that a solid hour of exercise each day helps him stay balanced and focused.
Above all, Bret finds his greatest joy in raising his two young children, ages two and four, with his wife Stephanie—calling it his “#1 joy,” and reminding others to “cherish every moment.” He is also passionate about giving back through the Russ Lyon Foundation, including supporting foster children and the company’s partnership with The Foster Alliance.
As President, Bret is focused on elevating expertise, strengthening collaboration, and guiding the firm forward with clarity and confidence—while staying anchored to the values that have defined Russ Lyon Sotheby’s International Realty for generations: excellence, integrity, and inspiration.
